I was born a year before Dengeki Sentai Changeman, but because it usually takes at least a few years for it to be dubbed into Malay (it was the Dubbing Era) I may have actually seen a glimpse of one episode without realizing it....

What I did remember was the mecha, Changerobo. The toy of the robot of various sizes where sold everywhere next to Voltron (at the time the box was Japanese, so it was Go Lion instead) I kinda really like the look then. >w<
When I was Primary School, there was Ultraman and all, But I could never really miss my 1st full series of Super Sentai on TV, Chousinsei Flashman!

Babies kidnapped to 5 epic planets, 20 years later, coming back home to find origin and protecting the planet.... I can't believe i even understood that in such a young age >w< I love the episode where the girls didn't want to complete the pose, and when all 4 members being absorbed into one monster leaving the Red to either save them or kill them. I gotta say.... till this day... no sentai group really looks like this team.... which holds a special spot in my memory
When the series ended, I was thinking.... gee.... what kind of show is gonna air at this time next week? At this age i was unaware of the sentai shows being 2 - 3 years old, nor did i knew about the long Legacy of Super Sentai. To my surprise....I got to see Hikari Sentai Maskman.

I loved the suits, the robo Great Five, the Drama, though... I must have missed the episode where the 1st 6th Ranger prototype was ever used in Sentai History, X1 mask [link] , He must have beena tribute to Battle Fever J
After Maskman, the shows changed their times, tuition took my afternoons and in that period in my life I have missed 3 Sentai groups which were Liveman, Turboranger, and Fiveman. However, I somehow remember this scene from Liveman, where Red Falcon learned true Courage by Colon's effort to protect him. And my dad did get me a DX Fiverobo which sadly.... I did not take care as a kid.... TTwTT
But suddenly, I caught up with time, and got to see the entire series of Chojin Sentai Jettoman.

I remember the drama, the Love Triangle, and my favorite Jetman, Black Condor. it took a while to join the group, not too mention he was the bad boy of the group >w<
The series ended in a bitter sweet way, and around this time, something majorly historical was about to happen on TV in an International Scale as it was 1993. The year of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

This historical event began the many future Introductions, Debates, Contraventions, Fandom, Haterated, Love of the live-action Heroes in Spandex.........
At the age of 9, it took me some episodes of MMPR to realize.... there was some really Big Picture I did not grasp yet. The mystery of the Trini not having a skirt as a ranger, the film quality as well as the fight scenes, and why was the Green ranger's shield sometimes solid and spongy.
You see, in Malaysia, some realize this, and many don't. But it wasn't only USA ranger merchandise, the Japanese ones were in the malls as well. Which meant that almost all the time, I was looking at what was sold in America and in Japan at the same time. Which was kinda like spoilers or the obvious facts.
Ever since then of course, buying video tapes was not the same anymore or toys for that matter. I've seen the DaiRanger Toys before the introduction of the Thunder Zords. I found out about the Alien Rangers and Zeo Rangers before they were dubbed in Choriki Sentai Ohranger vs Ninja Sentai KakuRanger [link] and so on.
There were a few years of MMPR being banned in my country because of the word "Morphin", which drug dealers use to trick kids in buying drugs that were called "Morphine". I think it was a.... half a year, MMPR was aired again. but the word Morhpin was censored, which could explain the future changers to the tittle.
In that period of time I have seen many ranger shows here and there but never completely. But the one I really enjoyed entirely.... was Power Rangers in Space Even though I new about Megarangers.

From ep 1 to the end...ahhh~
Didn't properly see Lost Galaxy, loved the team up episode.
see ya later in Part 02 =3=

Here is a simple example
MMPR and Zyuranger = PR are teenagers chosen because .... they were with attitude..... (giggles) , Zyurangers are a team of Princes and Princess of a 3000 year old Dinosaur Medieval era awaken from hibernation to face the released witch.
PR Lost galaxy and Gingaman = in both stories the red ranger lost an older brother, which both return later as the black knight like hero
What about an americanized tokusatsu repeating the same actions as the original?
To examplify, when I was reading the Shinkenger episodes on Wikipedia, and the PR Samurai episodes, I noticed that they were written nearly identical to each other.
I later watched an episode of Samurai, then watched the same episode in Shinkenger. The actions were also almost identical (asside from costume and mecha battles).
the two episodes maybe nearly identical, but not the characters, drama, or even the choice of words....
